Werner apparently 'wants' Liverpool move
It's been an on again, off again 'saga' for the best part of two seasons now: will Liverpool finally make a move for Timo Werner?
The answer is: we don't know. But if you believe all reports it appears that the German forward is starting to move away from his insistence on only going to a club where he'll play every week. Because according to Bild, he now actually wants to move to Liverpool.
The 23 year old, as you're all aware, is one of the German league's (and national side's) leading superstars. A prolific young forward, who contains all the attributes of the ideal modern attacker. Fast, pacy, strong, good with both foot and, most importantly, scores.
But the price tag, and the fact that he only wants to join a club where he'll play regularly, has always seemed like the things that make the move relatively unlikely.
However, the German paper claims that the forward now cites Anfield as his preferred destination. Which could only be good news, if we were prepared to meet his valuation.
According to the German paper, his valuation of 60 million Euros decreases by the year. So if we wait until the summer, which is the more likely thing to happen, he won't be that expensive. Ultimately, it'll be up to the player and Klopp to decide whether or not he signs.
