Van Dijk reckons Man Utd isn't Liverpool's biggest game this season
For most Liverpool fans, when the fixture list comes out the first two fixtures that we looks for are Man Utd and Everton.
It may be a generational thing, but some will find one or the other more important. But there's no denying that Man Utd is one of the biggest fixtures in our calendar.
For Virgil Van Dijk though, Man Utd away is not he biggest game of the season for the Reds, and he spoke to Sky Sports ahead of the massive match on Sunday.
He said: "It’s massive, but it’s more massive for the fans.
"I think all of the Champions League games are as big as this.
"The whole atmosphere and leading to the actual game is bigger than some other games but I don’t think it’s the biggest of the season.
"The big ones are the Champions League and the ones that are hopefully going to win us the Premier League title."
But the Reds centre back is all too aware that United will be seeing this as an opportunity themselves, particularly at home, to boost themselves and turn their already flailing season around against their most bitter rivals.
He continued: "They might think this is the best occasion to bounce back from it but we know that.
"We want to go out and fight for every metre on the pitch and try and take the three points back to Liverpool."
