Van Dijk is EA Sport's FIFA 20 Champions cover star

It's been a continuous upward trajectory for Virgil Van Dijk since he joined the Reds back in January 2018. From Southampton to Liverpool, then a Champions League finalist.

That all came about in the space of 6 months. By the time 18 months had passed, Van Dijk became generally regarded as the greatest centre back in world football. The Champions League winner's medal was the icing on the cake of a magnificent year and a half.

But how do you top all of that? By becoming the EA Sport's FIFA 20 Champions cover star, of course. Surprised you needed to ask!

All mocking aside though, it clearly is quite an honour for players these days and Van Dijk was pretty pleased with it himself.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, he said: "To represent Liverpool on the cover of FIFA 20 is really exciting for me as a player.

"I’ve been playing FIFA for years so it’s another major milestone in my career that I am very proud of."
