Update: Van Dijk provides Mo Salah injury news
On top of the news last night that we reported regarding Mo Salah's injury, and potential to appear against Man Utd on 20th October, another update has come today from an unusual source.
The Egyptian was breaking on Leicester late in the second half, as the Reds searched for an equaliser when the midfielder dived off the ground and tackled Salah from behind.
Catching the forward's trailing ankle, it was lucky for the Leicester player that Salah is so fast as it could've ended much worse for both of them.
It was confirmed on Monday evening that Salah's scan showed no major injury. He had suffered a twisted ankle, which is never good news, but with over 2 weeks until our next Premier League match against Man Utd at Old Trafford he has time to rest and recover.
But while the club had offered no idea as to his recovery time, Virgil Van Dijk has tonight provided a more favourable update himself ahead of his international duty.
He told Sky Sports: "I think he should be not too bad.
"The good thing he has plenty of time to recover. He’ll probably get a time to recover as well.
"So I’m not concerned that he’s not going to be ready for United away."
We just have to wait until later in the week now to see if the club provides any further updates as to Mo's fitness ahead of next weekend.
