Tony Bellew: Liverpool 'one of the best teams I've ever seen in my life'
That's no small praise coming from Bellew, either. Who's most famous moments are probably being in a Rocky film, and that other film of him spitting at Anfield.
But there's no doubt about it, Tony Bellew is a truly bitter Blue. So to hear any sort of praise come out of his mouth is something akin to a revelation.
Via the Liverpool Echo, he said: "I’ve spoken to Gary [Neville] and we’re on the same flight – it goes to the moon as soon as the parade starts."
All jokes aside though, the former heavyweight boxer admits that he has changed his views, due to a personal tragedy in his family.
He continued: "Do you know what, I’m going to be honest, my attitude has changed towards Liverpool I used to be the worst and most bitter Blue you’ll ever see in your life, but after losing my brother-in-law a couple of years ago… he was a mad Liverpool fan and followed them all around the world.
Before going on to add that it's hard not to give the Reds credit, all the same: "I’m not going to say I’m happy for them, because I’m not, it’s hard to watch and it annoys me to see them doing so well.
"But you’ve got to give them the credit they deserve, they are one of the best teams I’ve ever seen in my life."
