Shaqiri happy and 'very comfortable' at Liverpool
A concern of many Liverpool fans going into this season was just how happy Jurgen Klopp would be able to keep Swiss super star Xherdan Shaqiri.
The 27 year old winger signed last summer and managed over 30 games for the Reds last season but his appearances dried up shortly after January.
He's also had few involvements since the season began, but the player himself is happy, comfortable but he admits he would like to be playing more.
Speaking to Teleclub, a Swiss broadcaster, he said: "It is not easy for me, of course I am a little downbeat.
"You have to be able to handle that and you have to accept it, I was always still in the squad.
"You cannot ask the coach to play every match."
Across the 14 months he's been at the club, Shaqiri has appeared 34 times since the start of last season. But has totalled only 1440 minutes during that time.
That's an average of less than a half of football per game since he joined the club, something he won't be happy with but he know's he has a place here. He also knows that he can't expect to start every game.
He continued: "I feel very comfortable here. We have a great coach, a great club. There’s a family feel.
"I hope we can bring the Premier League back to Liverpool after 30 years."
