"Serious enough", says Klopp on Henderson injury
He limped off in the 12th minute with what looked like a minor foot injury, and apparently was able to walk out of the Allianz Arena without the aid of crutches but the captain's injury isn't looking great for the immediate games after last night.
It arose after the match that Henderson had actually twisted his ankle, with Klopp confirming such: "Hendo's twisted ankle, we have to see.
"It looks serious enough, and when you have to change in the middle of the park it’s not ideal.
"We didn’t want to ‘rest’ Fabinho but we wanted to bring in fresh legs. Hendo had fresh legs but it didn’t help his ankle!
"We had to change a little bit, and we wanted to play more football than we did in the first half. The second half that was much better."
He's not wrong there, the players certainly upped through at least a few gears in the 2nd half but still won at what seemed a relative canter.
As for Henderson, it appears he'll definitely miss Sunday's match at Fulham, whilst it's almost a certainty he'll be withdrawn from the England squad.
Who knows, if that's the case it may have come at the best time for both club and player, as the international matches really are a major distraction at this time of season.
