Salzburg forward excited to play against Liverpool at Anfield
The name of Liverpool has always been highly regarded in world football, even during our more lean years in the 90s and 00s.
It's hard to deny though, that's the Champions League win last season has added that extra lick of paint that has perhaps been missing for a while though.
So it's hardly a surprise to hear Salzburg forward Patson Daka express his excitement to be playing Anfield tomorrow night. Not least of all because he's a massive Red himself.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the 20 year old said: "When I was a kid, in my family we had a kind of competition that everybody has to support a famous football team.
"My father was a Chelsea fan, my sister supported Arsenal, so I chose Liverpool.
"One of the first really great moments was when Liverpool beat AC Milan in the Champions League final in 2005.
"Famous players I really love to remember playing here were Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez."
The youngster, born in Zambia, no doubt used the two former LFC strikers as inspiration, particularly considering he's a forward himself but that is where the admiration will end for the player tomorrow night at Anfield.
He continued: "With my first step on the grass of Anfield, a dream will come true.
"I have seen so many matches on TV and I have heard so many stories about it.
"But the reason why we are here with Salzburg is to play successful football. We will do everything to score on Wednesday."
