Salah returns against Genk but Matip and Alexander-Arnold are out

Against Manchester United on Sunday Liverpool were without Mo Salah and it showed, with the home side looking relatively comfortable in defence without Liverpool at full strength.

But the Reds will have Salah back for Wednesday, although there's no guarantee that he'll start, he should at least be on the bench.

Unfortunately, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Joel Matip will be 'rested', whilst Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss out also.

The centre back is still suffering with his 'niggle' and Klopp explained that he needs a full week's rest to get through a match.

Whilst Alexander-Arnold reportedly is suffering an illness, is all Klopp would provide in way of explanation.

That means that both Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren are expected to start, so Sepp van den Berg is likely to be on the bench as centre back cover.
