Rumours of Liverpool interest in Joao Felix
According to reports this morning, Liverpool are very interested in young Portuguese talent Joao Felix.
The 18-year old midfielder is one of the hottest young players in Europe at the moment, with Manchester United and Liverpool both interested, and the Reds also apparently had a bid turned down in January.
Of course, no young talent is allowed to exist without the interest of both Barcelona and Real Madrid and both are expected to be more likely destinations for the player thought of as being the next Kaka.
According to the youngster's agent, he is likely to be on the move this summer and he expects it to be a world record fee for a Portuguese player too. He said (via the Daily Mirror):
"Joao Felix is one of the best talents to emerge from the 1999 generation.
"He has everything to become the most expensive transfer of Portuguese football, and to be a candidate for the Balon d'Or."
It would take a fee of €120 million to prise him away from his club, having recently signed a new contract. We can't see anybody paying that much, nor Liverpool getting involved in a bidding war of that much for an 18-year old, regardless of how good he could become.
