Reports: Liverpool to offer Mo Salah new contract/big wage increase
It's a bit of a strange one, and we're not entirely sure why sources in Spain would either know, or report on this. But apparently we're due to offer Mo Salah a new contract.
Let's ignore for a second that he only signed a massive new contract last summer, that doesn't matter. Because according to 'reports in Spain' (that's nice and vague for you!), via SportsMole, that's what we're planning. Soon.
Mo Salah's current contract still has another four years on his current contract which is reportedly worth around £180,000. But if you believe what these 'reports from Spain' tell you, he'll more than double that again.
Why, you ask? Well, because FSG, Jurgen Klopp and the club are determined to keep Salah out of the clutches of the big two in Spain.
The deal would make Salah the best paid player in the Premier League, by some distance and put him in that elite bracket.
From our point-of-view, we just can't see the club doubling Salah's wages at this stage, considering how long he has left on his current deal. He's show no signs that he wants to leave, seems happy and his agent is content with his stature and club right now too.
