Reports: LFC make huge bid for Napoli forward Insigne
Bit late for transfer news now, you'd think, what with the transfer window having closed last week but that doesn't stop the 'rumour mill' turning and today's transfer rumour for Liverpool fans is that the Reds have made a massive bid for Lorenzo Insigne.
The Napoli forward is highly thought of around Europe's big leagues, and it seems like it's almost inevitable that he'll end up moving on at some point soon. Napoli are a great side, but the best player's generally end up at elite level clubs.
Do the Reds class themselves in that bracket now? Well, if that £61 million bid we've apparently lodged is anything to go by, then yes.. we most certainly do.
According to La Repubblica (Italian paper) the club have submitted a bid of the above sum via the striker's representative Mino Riola.
Apparently, Napoli have immediately rejected the bid and that an offer double that amount would be required to bring in the player.
Seems a strange time to start throwing bids in for players, considering the window only closed a week ago but it's no secret that Klopp really wants - and, more importantly, needs - a forward player in the same mould as Bobby.
