Real Madrid 'offer Asensio' to Liverpool for Sadio Mane
That ever-reliable source of transfer stories, the Express, claims that Real Madrid have offered their young superstar Asensio to Liverpool for Sadio Mane.
The paper claims that the Madrid team are all too aware of Jurgen Klopp's admiration for the 23-year old and are prepared to let him leave in exchange for Mane.
The Spaniard, previously considered the future replacement for Ronaldo, played 44 times for Real last season, scoring and assisting 7 and 8 times each. But the stumbling block might arise in the fact that there's a massive disparity in the valuation of the players.
According to transfermarkt, the Madrid player is valued at around €60 million, whilst his club only value him at €25 million higher again.
Sadio Mane, on the other hand, is valued at around double that by the same website, with there being no doubt that the Reds will add another €40 million to that again, at least.
It's fair to say that this is nothing more than a desperate attempt by Real to force the club's hand by unsettling Mane, who it's widely known Zidane covets above all other players. The problem, basically, is that we don't have to sell and Mane is more than happy at Liverpool.
Let's be honest, this just isn't going anywhere. In reality, the paper have probably made it up. In the same way that the Liverpool Echo have made up (or incorrectly reported) that Real want Mane plus €85 million for Marco Asensio. Utter garbage.
