Rabiot's mum claims Juve move not nailed on, but are Liverpool interested?
You know when David Maddock claimed the other day that Liverpool wouldn't be spending £50-60 million on a single player this season? Well, he didn't say anything about us signing a £50-60 million player on a free transfer, did he?
We jest, obviously. But Adrian Rabiot would fall nicely into that category of player who would be a huge boost to the playing squad, without costing an arm and a leg.
Earlier this week it was claimed that the French midfielder had agreed a move to Juventus, but the player's agent - his mum - has denied that today.
Via the Mirror, she said: "You know, in football, we're very superstitious, and it's better to say as little as you can until nothing is done.
The France international has played over 200 games for the Paris side, but has refused a new contract and is free to leave the club this summer, meaning a top quality midfielder is available for basically a signing on and agent's fee.
The 24 year old has been linked with Liverpool on numerous occasions, not least of all as he is a self-confessed LFC fan, but at this point, it appears unlikely that he'll join us.
Not least of all, because we're well-stocked in midfield, particularly with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back to full fitness for the new season and Naby Keita being fully integrated in.
