Player Ratings: Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool
And so we've come... to our last Premier League game of the season, and Liverpool triumphed in a fashion we've become accustomed to: grinding out a win.
An early goal, in the first 27 seconds, put the home side ahead, after the awful Anthony Taylor allowed a quick free kick which saw an offside Dwight Gayle put Newcastle ahead.
But the Reds worked their way back into the game, making a great chance for Van Dijk who, with a looping header, put us back to 1-1.
Shortly before going off, Divock Origi bagged himself another goal against Newcastle, whilst not really putting in his best display. Before Sadio Mane notched a third, and final, goal just before the 90 minutes.
Check out the player ratings below:
Alisson - Nothing to do but take the ball out of his net for the first goal. Had a rather easy day, for his last match of the season really. 6
Neco Williams - Pulled up with cramp with 15 minutes to go. He ran himself into the ground but still has some work to do on his forward play too. 6
Virgil Van Dijk - Imperious and made it look easy. Yes, we conceded, but they caught us before the game had really started. They also rarely threatened afterwards, largely due to the big man. 7
Joe Gomez - A few wobbles in the first half but settled nicely. Dealt with the pace of Gayle easily enough. 7
Andy Robertson - Didn't stop for the 90 minutes. You would never have thought it was a nothing end of season game. But just missed out on getting his assist to match Trent. 7
James Milner - Came in for Fabinho and didn't take long to get into his old groove. Was still winning crunching tackles late into the second half. 7
Gini Wijnaldum - Played in the deeper role, vacated for today by Fabinho and coped easily enough. In truth Newcastle offered little after the goal. 7
Naby Keita - Didn't get a goal or assist but his class shone through. A man of the match in his last game of the season is hopefully a sign of things to come for him next season. 8 Man of the Match
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - Another disappointing display but he popped up again with an important moment, this time the assist for Van Dijk's goal. 6
Takumi Minamino - A really good outing for the attacker, who looked hungry, dangerous and was unfortunate not to get a goal. 7
Divock Origi - A goal to compliment what was a pretty poor display. A weird one from Div but it's typical of his time at Anfield. 6
Sadio Mane - A beauty of a goal after coming on, could've had two had Mo passed to him prior to that but immediately offered a massive upgrade on Divock Origi. 7
Mo Salah - Was seemingly trying to grab a goal or two before the season ended, as he took shot after shot. Unlucky not to get a couple too. 7
Roberto Firmino - Did what Bobby does. 6
Trent Alexander-Arnold - On late on, not sure he even touched the ball. Did he? NA
Curtis Jones - Like Trent, was on late and didn't have a lot of time. NA
