Player Ratings: Liverpool 5-0 Watford

Well, if Sunday showed a team looking short on invention and bereft of ideas tonight against Watford was the complete opposite.

Liverpool tore right through Watford from the first whistle and just didn't let up and the 7th placed London team just couldn't handle the pressure, the relentless pressing and the pace from the Redo constant attacks.

There were top displays all over the pitch, with our front line in particular looking almost unstoppable, even in Bobby Firmino's absence. Speaking of which, Origi came in and looked the part. He gave us a new dimension and added to our speed.

So, it's another huge game on Sunday as we go across the park to say hello to Everton and look for another three points which will see the Reds move game closer to glory.

Alisson - Had hardly anything of note to do but was still called up on a couple of times and was alert and sharp on both occasions. Urgency and his distribution on the counter are always key ingredients. 7

Trent Alexander-Arnold - If he was poor and his delivery was bad against Bayern Munich, then he was the complete opposite tonight. His balls into the box were utter filth, his general delivery world class and he racked up a hat trick of assists. 9 (Man of the Match)

Joel Matip - Was happy to take a back seat as his burgeoning partnership with VVD saw the big Dutchman step to the fore once again. Faultless and continues to look classy alongside Van Dijk. His 3rd clean sheet in a row. 8

Virgil Van Dijk - Now that's what we've been waiting for - an utterly dominant defensive display and a couple of goals too. All round brilliant show from the world's best defender. Was immense against an in-form Troy Deeney, one of the Premier League's most troublesome opponents and barely had to get out of 1st gear. 9

Andrew Robertson - Did plenty of attacking himself and provided almost equal quality from the left but we can only score so many! 8

Fabinho - Beginning to look more and more the 2nd best DM in the Premier League by the match and considering N'Golo Kante has been pushed further up the pitch, he could well end the season as the best. His beanpole legs won the ball back so many times you could see the frustration on the Watford player's faces. But it's his coolness when on the ball and his all-round distribution that sets him apart at this time. Looks unbeatable alongside Wijnaldum. 8

Gini Wijnaldum - Just helps to keep us ticking ove when we're ahead and somehow manages to be everywhere at once when we're on the back foot. Had a quieter game but watch him closely and he's key to everything we do. Such an intelligent player for Klopp to have at his disposal. 7

James Milner - A familiar all action Milner display. He spent a lot of time in Watford's half and was seen filling in at left back on several occasions, to cover for the marauding Andy Robertson. He's a proper utility footballer, a man who's rarely injured and can usually always be relied upon. He was exactly what we needed him to be. 7

Sadio Mane - Sadio was once again at the fore in all we did right. Scored a good header and then a disgusting backheel to put us in a commanding position. Could've had more and deserved the match ball. 9

Mo Salah - If Sunday was one of his worst, then tonight was possibly his best in a Red shirt without scoring. Mo tore into Watford's left flank and gave their left back nightmares all match. He may not have been directly involved but played a huge role in most of them because he freed up space for team mates by dragging so many of Watford's players with him. Now just start adding the goals again and well all be laughing. 8

Divock Origi - The Belgian international striker deserves huge credit for a display which he grew into. Looked very off the pace and rusty but came on more and more. Once he scored, his confidence doubled and he started to cause Watford more problems. 7

Jordan Henderson - Came on, presumably to rest Milner's legs ahead of the derby. Did fine. 6

Adam Lallana - Some nice interplay but didn't really have the time to settle. 6

Naby Keita - Not on long . NA
