Player Ratings: Liverpool 2-0 Wolves

So, it wasn't quite to be.

Man City end up winners. You have to say 'deserved' because they finished with 1 more point but considering their advantages, it'll always feel like you're fighting up hill.

But we'll move on, strengthen and start again next season. City will also do the same but they can't go that close to 100 points again, surely.

The lads did us proud, we hit 97 points and reached a 2nd Champions League final under Jurgen Klopp.

Alisson - Made some good saves, particularly as Wolves had more chances than we should've allowed. 8

Trent Alexander-Arnold - A couple more assists but was troubled down his side a lot. Spurs will undoubtedly target him in the final. Something to work on. 8

Virgil Van Dijk - Finished the league season as he started it: dominant. 8

Joel Matip - Was left to cover for Trent on far too many occasions. Was troubled a bit by Jota and Jimenez but, ultimately, contributed to a 21st clean sheet. 7

Andy Robertson - Looked a bit leggy at times, will hopefully be ready for the final after a few weeks break. 7

Fabinho - Was given more trouble in midfield than he was on Wednesday night! Still managed to look mostly unflustered though. 7

Jordan Henderson - Gave the ball away a few too many times in the first half and started to keep it more simple after the break. Work-rate was undoubted though. 6

Georginio Wijnaldum - Like Henderson, he gave it away once or twice more than we're used to. Not like him. The impact of the crowd can't be understated though. They unsettled us. 6

Sadio Mane - A couple of goals to move level with Salah as the Golden Boot winner. Dangerous all afternoon, and may have had a hat-trick if Mo had not been as selfish but can't complain about his afternoon's work. 8 Man of the Match

Mo Salah - Once Man City went 3-1 up, seemed intent only on winning the Golden Boot. Looked a bit one-trick at times, and will need to be back to his recent best in three weeks. 7

Divock Origi - Despite barely playing until after the turn of the year, somehow managed to look gassed after 60 minutes. Worked away but ultimately failed to impact proceedings. 6

James Milner - Was again brought on to calm things down in the midfield. 6

Joe Gomez - Brought on to replace Robertson late on. NA

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - Came on to get a last applause at Anfield for the season. NA
