Phil Thompson: I'd have Coutinho back at LFC
According to Liverpool legend and former Reds assistant manager Phil Thompson, he'd happily take Philippe Coutinho back to the club this summer.
The Brazilian has been at the Camp Nou now since last January, playing 75 games for Barcelona, scoring 21 goals and adding in 11 assists.
The 26-year old is generally regarded as a massive failure at the club and he's taken the brunt of the responsibility for their brilliant exit from the Champions League last week.
It's expected that he'll leave this summer, with his club happy to accept a cut fee for the midfielder and Thommo would like the Reds to bring him back to Anfield.
He told Sky Sports: "I would take him back in a heartbeat, but it would have to be now.
"You don't want to leave it another 12 months, I think he still has the ability.
"He's suffered at Barcelona. We've seen him playing out wide on the left, but he's not Neymar.
"He likes to be in the middle where he can pull strings and is getting on the ball to hurt teams.
"He doesn't do that and he's not a left-winger and that's where he's playing at Barcelona; they don't love him like Liverpool loved him."
