Palace wouldn't 'stand in the way' of Liverpool or Man City signing Wilfried Zaha
Reports from Sky Sports News this morning has claimed that, while Crystal Palace are reluctant to sell their star man to Arsenal, they would let him go to LFC or Man City.
According to Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports News, Wilfried Zaha is keen to leave Crystal Palace this summer, with his preference apparently being Arsenal.
It'd be surprising if a club in a stronger position than Arsenal would be interested, as the way Zaha failed at Man Utd, which probably explains his reasoning for wanting to move to the Emirates Stadium.
But the Sky journalist was talking to their Transfer Talk podcast when he said: "They are saying ‘look, he’s our player, we would understand if he wanted to leave to go and play for a Champions League club, but Arsenal are not a Champions League club’.
"They wouldn’t stand in his way if Barcelona or Real Madrid or PSG or Manchester City or Liverpool were trying to sign him.
"But when it comes to Arsenal, they don’t feel that the attraction there is as much as it would be at a club that was in the Champions League."
The former Utd winger is widely regarded as one of the best attacking players outside of the top six, yet his stats since returning to Palace have been quite average, with around 65 goal involvements in almost 200.
Yet Palace are reportedly holding out for close to £100 million for the player. At this stage, there's zero chance Liverpool will go near Zaha, unless that price was more than halved.
