Oxlade-Chamberlain knows he must improve to get into Liverpool team
After a couple of handy looking cameos in recent games, it's fair to say that Liverpool's midfield triumvirate of Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita left a bit to be desired last night.
For Oxlade-Chamberlain in particular, it was a bit of a come-down after his brilliant display last week.
But having said that, he did still score a goal and assist Arsenal's own-goal for the opener. The player himself though, is all too aware that he is still some way off a regular first-team spot.
He said after last night's match: "Quality-wise, I am not too happy with my performance to be honest.
"I wasn’t great on the ball and not near my own personal level of where I want to be. I put in a good shift and run a lot.
"I watch the boys of a weekend and I know what it is about here. You have got to be at a really high physical level to go and put in a performance like that.
"Fab (Fabinho) did really well at the weekend so I need to keep pushing myself and maybe I will get a chance."
