No truth in rumours that LFC are in 'advanced talks' over Ryan Fraser
Well while that came right out of nowhere, the reports that Liverpool are in talks with Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth, it was quickly quashed with a couple of hours.
As most of these reports are, the denial came from the Liverpool Echo and simply stated that 'the Echo understands.. '. Quite who told them this is open to debate, so we'll just assume they had a line from the club.
However, such a speedy denial could also indicate that the club were hoping to get things done on the quiet, announcing the signing as soon as the window was open, and bringing in a top young winger on the cheap.
The only downside is that we're apparently looking to do a swap deal for Harry Wilson. The young Welshman is on loan at the South coast side this season and has scored four goals already, showing that he certainly has the quality to thrive at this level.
To lose Wilson would be a huge disappointment though. However, to then gain a player of Fraser's undoubted ability, with a track record of being able to hack it in the Premier League.
The 25 year old was one of the stars of the top division (outside of the top 6) last season, scoring 8 goals and providing 15 assists in the Premier League alone.
According to those same reports, with his contract being up next summer, he'll go for a cut price, so Bournemouth are keen to get what they can for a player that's destined for a bigger club.
Whether the reports are true or not, Fraser is certainly a player that Liverpool would be likely to be looking at. No doubt to the disappointment of those Reds that still think there's a chance that we're going for Mbappe.
