No bids for Werner, says Leipzig sport director
If it was ever clearer that Liverpool need alternative goal-scoring options of the highest quality, it was last night as the players huffed and puffed away to Chelsea in the cup.
It was suggested recently that Liverpool are not only favourites to sign Werner, but will likely make a bid for him before the end of March, or an approach, at least.
But according to the RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche, no formal bids have yet been made for the 23 year old. He said: "There aren’t many things that favour him leaving us.
"There has been nothing at all. But it’s normal that Timo gets into the focus of other clubs.
"He’s playing a very, very good season and scores very, very often.
"Timo has a long-term contract and there are not many things that favour him leaving us.
"We play Champions League, we have a super coaching team and we still want to achieve a lot."
