Nagelsmann warns Timo Werner about joining LFC
After their win at Spurs last night, it was obvious that some journalist or other was going to put a question to Timo Werner about his future.
So leave it to Jan Aage Fjortoft to be that man, putting Werner on the spot, to which he answered that he'd find it hard to break into Liverpool's team and would have to work hard to do so.
It wasn't exactly a confirmation that he was on his way, but it was certainly promising that he didn't just shut the conversation down.
But his manager at Leipzig has moved to warn the forward that joining a team like Liverpool won't be easy and may even harm his development, as he won't be playing all the time.
He said, in an interview with Sport Bild: "It would be more difficult for Timo Werner to play at Liverpool than at Leipzig.
"He will not get the status he has here in the first few years and I tell him that too.
"The boys are seeing how we are developing and how much potential we have. We don’t leave anyone, who helps us, defenceless."
LFC have been tipped to be one of the clubs making a move for the forward in the summer, whilst many pundits tip the Reds to be the big favourites to eventually sign him up.
