Mane: Not even Klopp thought Liverpool could come back against Barcelona
Prior to the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, many Liverpool fans hoped, just as many prayed and begged, but those that believed (and there were a fair few of us) we could come back from 4 down and go through, got laughed at.
But it now seems that much of the belief that we were capable of coming back from a 3 goal deficit in the second leg came from the players themselves for a change, not from our ever effervescent manager, Jurgen Klopp.
That's at least according to Sadio Mane. Speaking about the mood before the match (via the Mirror), he said: "Before the game [against Barca], I had never seen the boss like that.
"Klopp encouraged us but, honestly, not even he believed it.
"He is exceptional, he makes you want to fight for him and give everything for him."
However, with that tie now navigated and Klopp given another showing of just how far his players are willing to go to be successful. He no doubt has absolutely no doubts about their abilities to beat Spurs in Madrid next Saturday night.
