Mane declares it a struggle to describe how happy he is at Liverpool
It's been over three years now since Liverpool signed Sadio Mane from Southampton in a deal which, at the time, seemed like it was a 2nd or 3rd choice that summer.
The Senegal winger went from a very good, albeit somewhat risky, buy at £30-odd million to now being ranked as one of the best left wingers in world football. If not the best.
Mane finished as joint top Premier League scorer last season with Sadio Mane and Arsenal's Aubameyang and elevated himself to the elite tier of world star.
But with that sort of ranking comes the attraction of top clubs in Liverpool's bracket, so it's been no surprise at all to hear Real Madrid wanting the Senegal star two summers in a row.
So to hear Mane, once again, declare how happy he is at Anfield will be music to Liverpool fan's ears. The Senegal star was talking to Complex.
He said: "To be honest, I’m really happy to be a part of the club, the family here.
"We have the best fans in the world here, so I’m always so thankful for the support. It’s not just great for me too - it gives the whole squad more motivation to perform.
"It keeps us hungry to get better and better together…I really struggle to describe how happy I am to be here!"
The player has gone on to become one of the Reds main man, a man who many believe is actually more important to how we play under Jurgen Klopp than Mo Salah.
