Mane and Keita urge Werner to join Liverpool
Barca do it, Real do it, even Paris Saint Germain do it. Let's do i..
No, in all seriousness, all of those clubs above have done it at least a few times in the last couple of windows - using their own players to send messages to potential future signings.
And that's what Mane and Keita have seemingly done, in Sport Bild via Leipzig-based newspaper Sportbuzzer.
Former team mate of Werner, Naby Keita, reportedly said: "We played very well together in Leipzig and he was one of my best friends, it’s clear that should he change, I’d ask Timo to come to Liverpool with us."
Whilst Mane added: "I like his way of playing: very powerful, good finish, always with 100 percent in. If he wants to join us, we like to welcome him into our team."
As two former products of the Red Bull 'system' at both Leipzig and Salzburg, the two Senegal stars will hopefully present a positive picture to Werner after leaving around the same age.
The 22 year old forward will have just 12 months left on his contract by June and he's more than likely to going to leave in the summer, while his club can still get some money for him.
Having already firmly established himself as a mainstay of the German national team, he's likely to be in huge demand this summer but there will hopefully be a number of factors in our favour, should Jurgen decide he wants to make a move.
