Man City fans apparently concerned with strength of team vs Atalanta tonight
When the Man City team was announced to take on Atalanta in Italy tonight, there was an almost audible raising of eyebrows across Merseyside, as Liverpool fans expressed their surprise at how strong a side Guardiola had gone for.
Liverpool made six changes against Genk last night, managing to get over the line but perhaps not as comfortably as they'd have liked by the end.
But whilst City will likely win comfortably tonight, they could probably have done so with a fair few further first team regulars rested instead.
And according to the Manchester Evening News, Man City fans (on Twitter) had expressed their concern with how strong a side Guardiola had picked.
Not only do Liverpool have over 24 hours more time to prepare than their title rivals, but they now also have the likes of Mo Salah, Bobby Firmino, Jordan Henderson, amongst others who played little to no football since the weekend.
It may, or may not, turn out to be an advantage to Liverpool but we'll only really know whether it was by the time the final whistle has blown on Sunday night.
