Lovren off to Serie A in the summer?
According to reports this morning, Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren could be on his way out of the club in the summer.
It hasn't been a perfect spell at Liverpool for Lovren, by any means, and he certainly has his detractors but there have been some good spells and great memories, so it's hard to see Jurgen Klopp being open to the idea. He's not renowned for knee-jerky decision-making.
But those are the reports coming from Italy today claim that a host of Italy's top clubs are keen on the defender.
Lovren started the season (or would've) as the first-choice partner for Virgil Van Dijk, but quickly slipped behind Joe Gomez, after the young centre back hit a rich vein of form.
Since Gomez picked up another long-term injury though, Joel Matip has stepped into the hole he left behind and arguably been in just as impressive form as Gomez was prior.
This is all bad news for a constantly injured Lovren though, who now is finding himself at the back of the pecking order as 4th choice centre back.
Which has presumably what has led to rumours of AC Milan, Roma and Napoli all vying for the 29 year old's signature in the summer.
Apparently, Liverpool could well get back the whole £20 million they initially paid for Lovren, and then some. Considering that Fabinho can also fill in there and that the Reds have several promising young centre back options, it may be seen as a viable way to raise funds.
