Liverpool set to sign Andy Lonergan on one year contract
It comes as no surprise really that this is happening, but the Reds are set to bring in free agent Andy Lonergan on a one year contract as third (second) choice goalkeeper.
The 35 year old spent much of pre-season training with the squad and made a couple of appearances in friendly games, but wasn't expected to be kept on once Adrian was signed.
But an unexpected injury to Alisson in the first half against Norwich on Friday night has meant that Adrian is now the makeshift number one, leaving us bereft of a third choice.
So the Reds are expected to make Lonergan an offer of a one year contract and is expected to be in the squad for the European Super Cup final on Wednesday night.
