Liverpool scout Lyon attacker Memphis Depay
If you'd told Liverpool fans that we'd be linked with a former Man Utd winger a couple of years after he'd left the club in failure, we'd probably have felt very depressed.
But the news that Liverpool have apparently been scouting Memphis Depay will no doubt have made many Reds very happy this morning.
According to the French site Mercato 365, Liverpool had scouts watching Lyon vs Marseilles at the weekend and had an eye on the Dutchman who has been at Lyon for 2 years.
During that time, he has scored 37 goals and assisted another 40, in just over 110 games for the club. He is thought to be valued at around the £45 million mark.
Liverpool are looking for back-up for Sadio Mane and Mo Salah for next season, and are also thought to have been keeping an eye on Houssem Aouar and Tanguy Ndombele during the match.
