Liverpool reportedly short of funds for Kai Havertz transfer
The transfer blows continue to rain for Liverpool fans, as reports emerged this morning that, while Jurgen Klopp is keen to work with Kai Havertz, Liverpool haven't the funds.
Chelsea are apparently all set to spend big money on the other young German superstar that's likely to be on the move in the next transfer window and Liverpool will be under pressure to not lose ground on their big-spending rivals.
According to BR, Liverpool are playing down any move for Havertz, whilst the Express claims that Liverpool don't currently have the funds after pulling out of a move for the forward.
The 21 year old has 23 goals and assists so far this season, predominantly playing up front in a team that is challenging for the Champions League qualification spots.
Havertz has managed an astonishing 73 goals and assists in his first 3 full seasons in the first team, before the age of 21. If Liverpool were looking to make a statement, they could do much worse than putting their money on Havertz. It remains to be seen if we have the cash.
