Liverpool reportedly pushing Real Madrid for David Alaba
It was reported this morning via the Guardian that Liverpool are giving Real Madrid a run for their money, regarding the signing of Bayern's David Alaba.
The Reds, it claims, are just as keen and while the player seemingly has his heart set on Madrid, Liverpool are a much different beast in the transfer market these days so I wouldn't be at all surprised if we managed to persuade the 28 year old to choose Anfield.
But a claim coming via gaming platform Twitch, of all places, this evening has suggested that Liverpool have offered the player a huge contract to join the club.
Those claims come via a supposedly reliable source close to Juventus, who were also interested but will be unable to meet his wage demands.
Via Empire of the Kop, GOAL's Romeo Agresti has said that Liverpool have offered the player around £175k a week to join once his Bayern contract runs down in the summer.
Of course, signing a player of that quality would be huge for the Reds, but really, a central defensive signing in the January window would arguably be a much bigger boost as things stand.
