Liverpool reportedly beat Man City and Real to Diego Carlos
Off the back of Liverpool's most successful and brilliant year perhaps in the club's history, it's no surprise to see the Reds linked to all and sundry as the transfer window approaches.
Now this is an interesting one today. Well, from this morning, actually. The player in question is Diego Carlos, the Sevilla centre-back.
The 26-year old Brazilian star moved to Sevilla from Nantes in July but is already impressing the bigger sides in Europe, with Liverpool apparently being one of those teams.
According to those reports, the Reds are supposedly at the front of the pack and the player apparently wants to join Jurgen Klopp's dominant World Champions.
At least that's what ElDesmarque are saying anyway, as they make the claim that Carlos is interested in the prospect of playing for Liverpool.
The fee in question could be a stumbling block though, with a reported €75 million in his release clause. That's around £63-64 million to us. Rule this under 'unlikely to happen'.
