Liverpool news: Keita could return on Weds
So some good news for Reds this morning, as it looks as if midfield star Naby Keita could return against MK Dons in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
The 24-year old midfielder missed three months at the end of last season and suffered an injury just prior to the Super Cup in August and has been out ever since.
So the thought that he could be available, even in some capacity from the bench, on Wednesday night is very positive indeed.
Klopp said: "He is close but the match day squad is not yet the target. It is a few sessions training with the team.
"We’d only put him in [at Chelsea] if we didn’t have enough players but I hope we will have enough players for the match day squad.
"Wednesday is the target I will say and then we will see."
Keita spent a large part of last season injured, but still managed to feature 33 games last season and was finally showing his form before he got injured. He also started in the Community Shield before suffering his latest injury so his return will be very much welcome.
