Liverpool manager confirms Sadio Mane injury
Well that was certainly not news that we wanted, or expected, but apparently Sadio Mane has picked up an injury against Chelsea tonight.
The Senegal captain was taken off mid-way through the second half for James Milner, with many Liverpool fans scratching their heads.
But, while the exact substitution doesn't make sense, the fact that Mane came off at a time when he was our best attacking outlet does make more sense.
Speaking about it after the match, Klopp has confirmed: "Sadio has a knock on the bone around the knee and a dead leg. It's an awful combination.
"He tried everything but there was one counter situation when he really tried, on a non-dead leg day he'd have got the ball, but we had to say 'come on now' and made the change."
It was unlikely that Mane would start anyway on Wednesday night but it's a certainty now that he'll feature in any way. But he'll hopefully be available for Sheff Utd on Saturday.
