Liverpool 'looking to sell 3 players' to fund Werner move
If you believe the reports today, Liverpool will apparently make no major moves in the transfer market in the next window, unless the current financial situation changes.
All major (and minor) clubs have been hit by the pandemic, with revenue streams hit just like any businesses. Liverpool are no different, despite recent successes.
Therefore for any major transfers to take place, Liverpool are going to have to make some sales. And Jurgen Klopp is hoping to bring in funds selling on three players.
At least that's according to the Athletic, who claim the Reds are hopeful of receiving around £30 million for Xherdan Shaqiri who has failed to fully take his chance, whilst both on loan midfielders Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic are likely to bring in offers.
The real concern though, is that with the situation affecting everyone, it's unlikely Liverpool will find the buyers at the prices they want.
That said, if moves can be arranged, the plan is to raise the £52 million required to bring in the German striker from RB Leipzig in the summer.
