Liverpool looking at Werder Bremen star
After a long, hard season of supposedly 'tracking' Timo Werner, and the forward's own flirting with the club in the past 4 months, suddenly there are questions over the move.
It was never a nailed on signing, but had begun to look more and more likely by the week. But reports in the last day suggest that Liverpool may now be considering an alternative.
That alternative plays for fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and is named Milot Rashica. An Albanian by birth and Kosovo international, the 23 year old is in his third season at the Bremen team.
He's not quite as prolific as Werner though, scoring just 10 goals, with 5 assists, in 24 games this season. But that said, he does generally play on the left wing, so it's somewhat unfair to call him a 'forward'. Although, it is a position he can play.
The report comes via Bild who claim that Liverpool have had the player on their radar for some time. Also, Bremen could potentially be relegated this season, meaning his proposed fee of around £33 million could be significantly lowered if that was to happen.
It remains to be seen whether he'd come in as a squad player, or whether he is a replacement for a potentially outgoing star player but it would certainly be an interesting signing for the Reds.
