Liverpool linked with January move for Lille's Dutch defender
As the current season blazes towards the January transfer window, the press will finally have something to write about other than VAR again: transfers.
As current league leaders, and champions, it's big news to link Liverpool to all and sundry, even if it doesn't fit the club's current MO but being linked with 20 year old Lille centre back Sven Botman does make some sort of sense.
Coming from Foot Mercato, the reports claim that he has moved up the list of potential targets for the Reds due to financial problems in French football means that his price could have dropped from £45 million to £27 million (very exact, I know).
He's a left-footer, likes a pass, is tall (same height as Virgil) and is particularly strong. So he'd probably fit right in, but whether the club would be prepared to pay almost £30 million in January remains to be seen.
Personally, I've seen little of him, but I've heard good things and, while he's yet to be capped for the Netherlands, he's clearly lined up for a big move in the future.
