Liverpool 'keeping tabs' on Coutinho, claim today's reports
Reports today have actually claimed that Liverpool aren't quite finished with Philippe Coutinho yet.
It's common knowledge that if any club offers Barca even close to what they paid for Coutinho last summer, they'll personally drive the player there themselves.
Such has been the Brazilian's lack of a serious impact (relative to his fee) since arriving, the Catalan club are keen to move him on during this rebuilding phase and Liverpool (along with Man Utd) were one of the first two clubs cited as a possible destination.
But all indications from within LFC, and from the likes of Paul Joyce, Melissa Reddy and the Liverpool Echo were that the club weren't interested in bringing him back.
French outlet Le10Sport though (via InsideFutbol.com), claim otherwise. Apparently Jurgen Klopp is still keen on the player and Liverpool, whilst reluctant to bring him back on his current wages and for that hefty fee, still retain an interest.
The midfielder has been at Barcelona for 18 months, playing 54 times last season in all competitions but managed just 11 goals and 5 assists in a free-scoring attacking team.
For what it's worth, we don't believe a word of it and Coutinho is more likely to become a Barcelona legend than to come back to Anfield any time soon!
