Liverpool chase Valencia youngster, but face strong competition
With the summer transfer probably closer now than the restart of the Premier League season, we're likely to see a real increase in transfer rumours in the coming weeks.
All jokes aside, the transfer window will likely stay closed until the 2019-20 season has completed but is likely to stay open longer so there'll be plenty of business ongoing.
For Liverpool, that means endless transfer rumours and speculation. In the last 24 hours, we've been linked with all kinds of players, but one that stands out as fairly interesting is that of Valencia youngster Ferran Torres.
A 20 year old Spanish U21 international has been a regular for the La Liga team for the last 2.5 seasons, and will be in some demand during the 'summer' transfer window.
His general value is around €45 million but the Spanish media are saying his valuation by his club is nearer to €90 million and it gets more complicated from there.
According to the Mirror, both of Spain's giants - Barca and Real - are interested in the player and the lure of the two biggest clubs in his home country may end up being too much for him.
It remains to be seen what he'll do though, as he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement at the end of this year with European clubs. As a pacy, tricky winger with youth on his side, he'd certainly fit the bill for players that Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards like.
