LFC to play pre-season match at Anfield
It's been a long time coming, but Liverpool will finally play a pre-season match at Anfield during this summer's pre-season ahead of the 2019-20 football season.
We go back to 2014 for the last time a pre-season match was played at Anfield. Can anybody remember who that was against? Borussia Dortmund, under out current boss Jurgen Klopp.
The report from the Liverpool Echo states that the Reds are currently in talks with a number of potential Anfield opponents for a mid-week game just before next season is due to start.
Liverpool announced on Tuesday that they would have another US pre-season tour, where they will take on Borussia Dortmund in Indiana (July 19), Sevilla in Boston (July 21) and Sporting Lisbon in New York (July 24).
We also discovered last week that Liverpool are in discussions to play a pre-season match at Spurs' new stadium during the summer, probably against Italian's Napoli but those talks are ongoing still.
Hopefully, for local fans, there'll be an opportunity to see their heroes (hopefully, their conquering heroes) during pre-season.
Because while it's nice for fans outside of Liverpool to catch the boys during summer tours, there's a lot of local fans who are always either priced out of visiting Anfield during the competitive season or simply don't have any luck getting tickets.
