LFC's Kirkby academy hit with Covid outbreak
As if the past two weeks couldn't have gotten any worse, reports coming from Anfield today have stated that up to 10 members of staff at the club's Kirkby academy have Covid.
With Mo Salah having tested positive this week, and now likely to miss the game at the weekend, it is a concern for the club but apparently none of the older age groups or the senior staff/team have been affected.
A statement from the club read: "A number of academy staff have tested positive for Covid-19 and are isolating.
"This has led to the cancellation of a small number of training sessions at younger age groups this week.
"Strict protocols have been in place at the academy throughout the pandemic including deep cleans and spraying which will continue."
Let's just hope that everybody is doing well, health wise, and the virus doesn't spread any further throughout the academy.
