LFC reportedly make first signing & Markovic on his way?
According to reports on ESPN FC this weekend, the Reds' forgotten man Lazar Markovic could be on his way at the end of the season. At long last, some might think.
At the age of 24 Markovic, who arrived at Anfield in July 2014 for a £20 million, with a big reputation as one of Europe's hottest properties, has played just 34 games for the Reds. Having had 4 loan spells in the years since his first season, his contract will run down in the summer and Mexican side Liga MX are reportedly ready to offer him a way out.
Apparently, Markovic's representative has refused to comment which suggests that this could have legs. That, or there aren't a lot of other offers on the table right now.
Elsewhere, ESPN FC also report that LFC have made the clubs' first signing of the January window (and likely our last).
16 year old French defender Billy Koumetio will complete his signing for LFC from US Orleand, for what is reportedly a nominal fee.
Not quite the exciting defensive signing many of us fans have been asking for since the injuries to Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez but if Ki-Jana Hoever is anything to go by the guys running our academy certainly know how to pick out a young centre back.
