Leverkusen reportedly 'expect' Liverpool bid for Havertz
So that's quite interesting, as the 'Head of Football' at Bild, Christian Falk, announced on Twitter earlier this morning that Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are expecting a bid.
That is, for their star man Kai Havertz. Check out Falk's Tweet below:
The young midfield star is in huge demand, which will likely only increase throughout the rest of the season and into next summer.
Liverpool have long been considered suitors for the German international but given our current position as world and European champions, should we make a bid it'd surely be hard for him to turn down the chance to work under Jurgen Klopp.
But firstly, is the matter of having a bid accepted, and the German journalist Falk said that a Spanish, English and German side are all interested. It's obvious that the German side are Bayern Munich, whilst either Barcelona or Real Madrid are the Spanish side.
Apparently though, Liverpool are the English team interested and his team are bracing themselves for a bid for a player that is valued at around £110m.
The 20 year old has 7 goals and assists in all competitions this season, some way behind his haul from last season of 27 in 42 but there's not doubt that he is one of the future stars of European football.
