Kompany still thinks Man City can catch LFC
If you believe former Man City captain and central defender Vincent Kompany, the title race is not yet over.
Despite the fact that City have never been in a serious chase for the title with more than half the season gone, the Belgian reckons that you can never say never with his former team.
He told the Football Writer's Association tribute night: "I never say it's over with City [Premier League title race]. It's impossible to say.
"But it is not in the hands of Manchester City and that's unfortunate but there is so many things to look forward to."
Presumably Kompany is refereing to the Champions League, a competition which Man City have yet to even reach the semi-final of more than once. But he insists that there is still plenty of good times on the horizon for his old team.
He went on: "Look at historically how City have been performing in cups and how the Champions League is still a massive target for the club.
"There is no reason to be disappointed about this season, there's still it all to play for."
