Klopp urged to bring Griezmann to Liverpool
Another day, brings another strange transfer rumour, and this time it's the turn of French star Antoine Griezmann to be linked to Anfield.
Although, on this occasion it's not a rumour in the press or a misunderstood quote, it's just a mis-informed football pundit who's paid to spout pure nonsense.
That pundit today is Craig Burley, who has told ESPN that, with Barcelona looking to have changed their stance on the player, Liverpool should step in.
He said: "I still think that Antoine Griezmann would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool.
"Bearing in mind how well they did last year and how close they came to Manchester City.
"The quality that he would bring and to have somebody that can rotate with Firmino in that front three would be a fantastic addition.
"I don’t know if that is something that could be done but I think that if they are going to bridge that gap to Manchester City then that is the kind of player that they need to be signing."
While Griezmann would certainly be an attractive prospect, we just don't see Liverpool signing a player to 'rotate' with an existing player who costs £95 million. Nor would a player like the Frenchman be happy to simple swap and change with Firmino.
With that in mind, let's hope this is the first and last time that Liverpool are talked about as a potential destination, unless it actually happens (which it definitely won't!).
