Klopp: this LFC team is only at the start of their development
Certainly, it's a bit of a scary thought for our rivals, but Jurgen Klopp reckons his Liverpool team is only just on the start of their development path.
His Reds side played out a 2-1 win over Fulham today, in terrible conditions, and gave a very sloppy and disjointed performance. But they came away with the 3 points, all the same.
And Klopp reckons that that is just fine, as the team is still young, and has a long way to go yet to be 'perfect', as he put it.
Speaking following the match, he said: "Now I like the result more with the 2-1 than the 1-0, because coming back from a situation like that. I think we fully deserved to win the game. It was an average game, massive result.
"First half was a bit rusty. Second half we could have finished it off and then it is clear at 1-0 if you don't kill it off that can happen. Babel was there, that is how football is. They deserved a goal but we deserved three points. A brilliant afternoon I have to say.
"I am not in any doubt about my players' nerves. It is about intensity. We go for perfection but it is rare that you get it. People will say we need to be more convincing, but we are at the start of a development, not the end.
"They are cool enough. On our day we are a flying team, that's all there, but the consistency is rare."
Now, players like James Milner, Joel Matip, Adam Lallana and Mo Salah will have a couple of weeks to train, rest and have a bit of recuperation before a tough run through to April the end of April.
