Klopp speaks about new Liverpool signing
Within the space of barely 12 hours Liverpool had let Simon Mignolet finally leave the club for Club Brugge, and signed free agent Adrian, after he was released by West Ham.
The Reds - and Migs - obviously had this lined up for a while, as these things don't just happen overnight, but it now wraps up that worrying goalkeeping back up that was hanging over the squad, with Mignolet seemingly wanting to leave.
The 32-year old Spanish keeper was a hugely popular figure at West Ham, but was relegated to back up keeper in the past few seasons.
After playing barely 10 times last season, the player chose to leave West Ham and has become a Red at an age where his experience will no doubt be invaluable and he'll become a solid option as back up to Alisson.
Speaking about the club's new signing, Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: "I think this is the perfect solution for us in this moment, replacing talent and experience like for like.
"With Ali and Simon, I felt like we had two ‘No.1s’ and in many ways we have repeated that with Adrian. This is important.
"He is a ‘keeper who knows the Premier League, who has played in pressure situations and has the highest quality.
"They are big gloves to fill because Simon was such an outstanding professional and contributed to the group even when not in the starting XI.
"Everything we know about Adrian tells us he has the personal qualities to go with his clear playing talent to ensure this area of the team is not weakened.
"We’re all looking forward to working with him.."
