Klopp's full-time message to his Liverpool players
It wasn't the result we wanted, nor was it the result we deserved. In a game that saw us have 52% possession over the match, with more shots on - and off - target, along with controlling large periods of the game, it felt truly harsh. Even 1-nil would've felt a bit too unfair.
But that's what we've got to contend with, a 3-nil deficit, which we all know, is unlikely to be overturned. LFC fans though, know that there's always belief, a chance.
Speaking to his players after the match last night, Klopp said: "What did I say to them after the game? I said that I am really proud of them, that I liked a lot of things about the game.
"I don’t have to think about the next game against Barcelona yet, we have Newcastle and that will have all of our focus. We will go to the hotel, have a proper sleep, get up in the morning and fly home.
"Whatever happens, these boys, I couldn’t be more proud of them. People who haven’t seen the game will see the result and say strange things about it, but they always strike back in these kind of games.
"How brave they are, I just like it. And in the end it is still 3-0, it will not change. So let’s fly home and play Newcastle."
So, it's back to the weekly grind of the Premier League for Jurgen, who's now got a job to turn his player's attentions back to a fading title hope.
The opponents on Saturday night will be well up for our arrival and are unlikely to allow us to walk all over them. Indeed, our greatest hope is that even a handful of their players are already on the beach and we can again put pressure on City who play on Monday night.
