Klopp may take 'sabbatical' at the end of Liverpool contract
The reports coming from ESPN this afternoon claim that Jurgen Klopp may 'resist' the offer to extend his contract once his current contract ends in 2022.
The German has been at Anfield since 2015, a season in which he took the team to the League Cup and Europa League finals.
The following season was his first full season of rebuilding, before reaching the Champions League final last season, only to lost out to Real Madrid in the final.
Klopp almost perfected his team this season, reaching 97 points in the Premier League and winning the Champions League and, in doing so, attaining legendary status.
But new correspondent at ESPN, Melissa Reddy, has said that Klopp has 'repeated' stressed his wishes to take a sabbatical once his current contract ends.
Apparently, FSG are keen to tie him down for a longer period but will only enter into negotiations if Klopp expresses his desire to sign up again.
